"I just wanted to send you a note to express my feelings about the Beyond Basic Motor Riding Training!! It was awesome! I came into it only ever riding a motorcycle 50' in a parking lot with my husband trying to teach me. That's where it ended...I felt so much more confident...that I could actually ride the Fat Boy that I had just bought! People kept telling me to buy a smaller bike, you're going to dump it for sure. I didn't listen to them and I'm so glad that I didn't...I have put over 400 miles on the bikes in the last 3 weeks...Brian and Dennis were invaluable. They made the class fun and light-hearted, while still drilling the basics into our heads. I felt safe and the building block approach to the class made it a no brainer to learn to ride...it doesn't matter what bike you ride, it’s all technique...I sure did impress my husband by making a U-turn on my Fat Boy without putting my feet down in a confined space on our first ride out together. Woo Hooooo!!"
"The training that was provided expanded my safety knowledge and gave me informative topics and ideas. My instructors really hit the areas that would improve the safety of my riding."
"This is an excellent course and I encourage anyone who rides a motorcycle to complete Beyond Basic Motor Riding course. These guys will teach you the proper techniques on how to safely and properly operate a bike. This is definitely a confidence builder and I have learned more here today than all the years I spent riding doing it ALL WRONG. Do yourself a favor, take this course."
"This advanced course has given me a better understanding of the limits and capabilities of my motorcycle. In addition my riding skill has improved immeasurably. I will take this course again."
"Brian and Dennis run an outstanding course. These guys run the best motorcycle class I've ever attended. I've attended other motorcycle classes at two different locations. These guys have a great course and great techniques. They are professional and patient. I look forward to attending this class again. Thanks”.
Strengths:
- Excellent articulation on how to execute drills
- Instructors displayed overwhelming diversity techniques with instruction of vast skill levels.
- Over all a solid pace so all students were able to participate.
- Superior awareness by instructors on not letting student "cheat a pattern". (This will build rider awareness to his flaws)
- Excellent chosen drills for students were highly applicable for street riding.
- Instructors are highly motivated.
In Closing,
Both instructors current and knowledgeable.
It was the most challenging motor school I have attended. Looking forward to coming back.
I'm glad to have been in your first offering of the course. I appreciated your clarity, patience and 1-on-1 attention. Thanks.
To me, the course is built upon maintaining control of the bike at very low speed (i.e., <15 miles/hour). To me, the course rests upon this foundation.
That morning, I said I wanted to learn how to control the bike at low speed and to quickly scrub off speed. The course is tailored to both of these -- a perfect match.
One of my main challenges will be practice. I do better in a structured environment so I will have to work on this. I will probably want to take the course again toward the end of summer.
Thanks for keeping it real, relevant and fun,
I had a great time learning from the instructors. The atmosphere was professional, safe, and encouraging. Throughout the entire course both instructors were a credit to the departments they work for and the communities they serve. The communication of goals and expectations were clear and concise, with an attitude of excitement and possibility. The course was well laid out and never felt unsafe. I really liked the fact I was able to use my personnel bike. As an owner of a sports bike, it was important to lean my personnel throttle and clutch control. Had I not used my own bike, I would have never believed my bike could make the patterns. I would have continued to believe tight patterns were only possible for "cruisers". Although the day was tiring, and at times difficult, there was always a pat on the back and encouraging word from the instructors. I never felt they ever gave up on me or the other students, and in fact worked harder.
Practice makes perfect and would love to practice there again. Thanks again you guys were great, and had a great time.
